
The article doesn't dodge the issue of strain on families. It also discusses the phenomenon of the employee who goes abroad for the company only to be forgotten in the promotion food chain but concludes "as a career move . . . there doesn't seem to be a better choice you can make." But we already knew that, didn't we?





I spent nearly 20 years in Japan, China and Far East Russia.
I can speak Japanese nearly as well as I speak English, depending on what we are talking about...
But, I have found no benefit - careerwise - for having spent that time overseas...other than writing for KMM ....
EPF NOTE: I'm glad you added "careerwise", because I doubt that you could say the experience hasn't enhanced your life.
